Thursday, January 19 “Loano not only sea”, the excursion program curated by the Loano section of the C.A.I.. under the auspices of the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the Municipality of Loano, will offer one of the classic outings of the Loano hinterland: the Prince's Forest (m 297).
The meeting for participants is at 8:30 a.m. In the Valerga Square parking lot.
Explain Beppe Peretti, CAI hiking companion of Loano: “The walk will start from Valerga Square and on foot we will reach the country church of San Damiano, with its semicircular square, bordered by majestic cypress trees from which there is a remarkable view of the harbor and the entire Loano coastline. After a short stop we will continue to Santa Libera di Ranzi, from where we will take the Hay Trail that will lead us to our destination: the Poggio del Bosco del Principe. In addition to offering beautiful views of the sea and the hinterland, the Poggio features an old abandoned barracks on its summit. The loop route will take us back to S. Damiano, and from there to Piazza Valerga.
The excursions are free and practicable by those with a fair amount of mountain walking training. For non-members of CAI, personal accident insurance is mandatory and must be taken out before the trip.
