Everything is ready, at Loano, for Air Show 2014 which will close with a performance by the 313th Acrobatic Training Group of the Italian Air Force the “Frecce Tricolori.”.
Sunday, May 18, the National Aerobatic Patrol (PAN) will fly over the sky of Loano with evolutions and aerial acrobatics, closing the intense aviation show with the tricolor.
The event, organized by the’Aero Club Savona and the Ligurian Riviera, from the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano, in collaboration with the’Clemente Panero International Airport of Villanova d'Albenga, under the auspices of the Province of Savona, will bring the world's largest and most admired aerobatic patrol back to western Savona.
As early as Saturday afternoon, from the 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., planes will be heard roaring, arriving on the Lovran coast for the performance rehearsals, offering a glimpse of the exciting and choreographed show.
Sunday morning, from 8.30 at 12.30, Open Day at the Villanova di Albenga airport, where the hangar for the second year will feature the military aircraft flight simulator F16.
It will get into the thick of the show on Sunday afternoon starting from the 3 p.m.
The performances will kick off with the “passage” of several aircraft belonging to the Savona Aero Club team.
Opening the air parade will be the CITIUS sport aircraft, two-seater, suitable for the first period of flight school. Conducting it will be Maurizio Colombo, VDS pilot Advisor of the Aero Club Savona. This will be followed by the PS 28, latest aircraft added to Aero Club Savona's social fleet, a two-seater that will be piloted by flight instructor Francis Toscano. It will then be the turn of the pilot Guido Racioppoli, two thousand hours of flight time including 1200 hours of stunts, who will fly over the rooftops of Loano with the Zlin 50 LA, a Czechoslovakian plane that moves elegantly and has won the World Aerobatics Championships unlimited category seven times since its debut.
A welcome return for the skies of western Savona will be that of helicopters Robinson R 22 ( belonging to the Italfly flight school) the same model that formed the “hard core” of the Eliliguria flight school helicopter air work company that saw the light of day in 1985 as a rib of the aero club. C.te Lino Rivolta, who will present the aircraft at the head of the formation, was an Eliliguria flight instructor and participated in one of the first Air Shows (1987 in Villanova d'Albenga). The exhibition brings together unpublished shots, historical photos, paintings, films, artifacts and collectibles from PAN. Also on display are oils on canvas are by Loano painter Nice Plain. The exhibition can be visited daily, with free admission.
