The thrill of being “on the sea” of Loano: Sailing, Whale Watching, Bird Watching, Surfing

Those who decide to come on holiday to Loano do so above all to “stay” by the sea. But how would you like to also experience the thrill of “being” by the sea?

Maybe aboard a sailboat or balancing on a board, carried by the wind, in the blue painted blue? Feeling this emotion is easy: the Loano Nautical Club, in fact, organizes sailing and windsurfing courses for adults and children every summer.

All courses are held by qualified instructors of the Italian Sailing Federation and include theory and practice parts. By attending the sailing school you will learn to go sailing with a teaching method that is based on direct learning of the main manoeuvres.

Did you know that Loano is located inside the Pelagos Cetacean Sanctuary?

It is a protected marine area between Italy, France and the Principality of Monaco where there is a massive concentration of cetaceans: so far 8 different species have been counted.

Sighting a cetacean is always a very strong emotion: admiring the jumps, the evolutions, the games of these mammals is a unique experience, not only for children but also for adults.

In Marina di Loano, the Loano tourist port, the Consorzio Liguria Via Mare organizes whale-watching and bird-watching.

The outings, lasting approximately 4 hours, are suitable for an audience of all ages and have as their objective the research and observation of the 8 species of cetaceans that inhabit Pelagos. A biologist is always present on board to comment on the sightings, provide information and curiosities and collect important scientific data for research.
