The library

The civic library, named in memory of Antonio Arecco, a great scholar of local history, is located in Palazzo Kursaal, in Corso Roma. It is open from Monday to Friday and has over 20,000 volumes and many books for children of all ages.

During the year it hosts cultural events and shows for adults and children and, in  summer, reading workshops for children. One of the most important friends of the Loano library is grandmother Piera Alba Merlo, a real bard storyteller who entertains the little ones by telling them tales and fairy tales in a “fairytale” place like the Don Leone Grossi Park.
