Friday, June 30 and Saturday, July 1 a Loano, the second edition of the thematic festival will be held. “Ancient Tastes on the Salt Roads.”, organized by the St. Francis Mary of Camporosso Solidarity Bank in collaboration with the S.M. Immaculate Parish, under the auspices of the ’’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano.
It will be two evenings dedicated to the rediscovery of ancient flavors. From 7 p.m. in the courtyard of the Parish of the Capuchin Friars you will be able to enjoy dishes made with the typical products and agri-food excellences of the territories of the ancient salt routes: the “Cerianasca pilgrim dish” (Green rice cake, Pizza Sardenaira and Cerianasca Sausage and Tomatoes), white polenta with leek sauce, fried panissa, potato fritters. The menu will also include other dishes such as trenette al pesto, mixed meat grill (skewers and sausage), mixed fried seafood (rings and shrimp), fries, Ligurian-style cundigiun (tomato-based salad). To end on a sweet note there will be apple fritters and assorted cakes.
Saturday, July 1, the evening will be accompanied by Occitan music and dances organized in collaboration with the’Association Balà in riva a u ma’. Providing the soundtrack for the dancers will be the group Lou Janavel.
“All proceeds (excluding expenses)," the organizers explain, "will be invested in the work of the Loano Solidarity Bank, which gather food and then donate it to people in severe economic hardship who are struggling to meet their family's food needs. Food Bank volunteers reach families directly at their homes, and by doing so, opportunities are created to meeting between those who bring the “package” (i.e., the bag with the food) and who receives it. From this gesture arise friendship relations And you meet other needs besides food.”
