Monday, December 28, As is now tradition, the bravest daredevils will gather on the beach of Loano To participate in the end-of-year plunge.
La XXIXth Winter Swimming Endeavor, promoted by the Tourism Departments and to the State Property of the Municipality of Loano in collaboration with the Italian Bathing Union of Loano, the Italian Swimming Federation Lifeguarding, the Coast Guard of Loano, the Doria Swimming Society, will take place in the stretch of water in front of the Neptune Baths.
Professional swimmers will be arriving from all over Liguria and northern Italy, who will test themselves by facing the winter sea for a dip of a few seconds or, for the more trained, a ten-minute dip.
From 10 a.m. registration will open. The plunge is announced at 11 a.m.
The seashore party will be enlivened by Luca Valentini, who will set the pace for the tryouts engaged in the warm-up activity with a rich lineup of music.
While waiting for the sea bath, volunteers O.P.S.A (multi-purpose water rescue operators) of the Savona Provincial Committee of the Italian Red Cross and the lifeguards of the loanese bathing union will bring to life rescue demonstrations using sea rescue operators and dogs.
All participants will be given a gadget, and a special award will be presented to the youngest and the youngest and the oldest, the wearer of the most original costume and the largest group.
After the plunge, tryers can warm up with hot tea and regain energy with a tasty snack provided by the organization.
