Saturday, May 27, a Loano, the project will be presented “Loano Outdoor” promoted by the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano.
It will be the “Starting Season” Meeting” to provide an opportunity to get to the heart of the new tourism development project that promotes land development and outdoor sports opportunities.
The day, which will feature Italian and foreign industry journalists participating in the ’Loano educ-tour,“ will offer activities, free and open to all, in trail running, mountain biking, photography, and trekking.
In the morning, area associations will accompany tourists, sportsmen, photographers and journalists to the discovery of loanese trails.
In the afternoon, the in-depth meeting will be held, which will aim to raise awareness of the contents of the project. The meeting, which is open to the public, will be attended by foreign journalists from Switzerland, Austria, Sweden, the Netherlands, Denmark, and Italian trade newspapers.
“The project “Loano Outdoor”, - explains the Mayor of Loano. Luigi Pignocca - aims to systematize activities designed to increase tourist flows by expanding the area's offerings, particularly during the low season. We are focusing especially on trekking routes without forgetting cycling and mountain biking routes.
We are adopting new tourism development strategies to implement the main economy of the area, while respecting the environment, through a product that will be aimed at the sportsmen and to the outdoor tourists.
The outdoors is destined to become the new frontier of tourism development particularly in Liguria, a region that presents itself as an open-air gym. Indeed, the coast and hinterland offer a territory that is highly appreciated by trekking and mountain biking enthusiasts.”
“This new project will be fully operational within two years. - explains the Councillor for Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano Remo Zaccaria - We connected to the network of Ligurian outdoor offerings by identifying and linking trails. 100 kilometers of trails were monitored, and in collaboration with local associations, the following were defined 14 fitwalking trails e 3 for Mountain Bike. The project involves the construction of a App (Paper@web App) and the related Web geoportal for the publication of tracks with the possibility of street view and guide support as well. The Loano Outdoor geoportal will flow into the www.loanoperlosport.it
Signage with bilingual texts will be placed on the trails to help with orientation, and on the waterfront in Orto Maccagli, a billboard with all the routes and a QR Code will be installed that will allow the routes to be downloaded. Finally, gymnastic equipment will be installed on one of the city routes that will allow for warm-up and training activities.”
The following associations are collaborating on the project: Maremontana, Balla con i Cingliali, Loano section of the Italian Alpine Club, Amici del Carmo, Outdoor Thunder ASD, Loano Italian Bathing Union, Loanese Hoteliers Association, ASCOM Loano.
