Friday, December 4, Loano lights up Christmas with the A Thousand Lights of the Holidays, an initiative promoted by the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano.
The festival will kick off at 14.00, in Italy Square, and will involve the pupils of the’Comprehensive Institute Loano-Boissano Who will perform the Christmas concert.
From 16.30, animating the afternoon will be The Association “U Gunbu de Löa” who will present a wide repertoire of traditional Christmas folk songs.
It will be the lighting of the big Christmas tree in Italy Square, to the 17.30, to set the tone for the city's artistic illumination. Serving as godmothers will be the teachers of the St. Star Preschool With kindergarten children.
A warm Christmas atmosphere will envelop Loano, beautifying the shopping streets. Lights will draw the contours of the most beautiful corners and Christmas decorations will dress the city festively. A shower of light will create a sparkling gallery in the historic center.
Always the December 4, in the San Josemaria Escivà Gardens, will be inaugurated on Christmas Village with the marketplace Christmas magic, promoted by the’Multipurpose Cultural Center Association of Loano. The setting up in the heart of the city, with the many small chalets, will recall the typical atmosphere of markets in northern European countries. The gardens will be adorned with a fairy-tale setting: light games and saplings will compose a winter garden. Santa Claus will be waiting for children in his little house to take a picture with them and an elf make-up artist Will play with the little ones.
The market will offer visitors a wide selection of items related to the holiday season: candles, Christmas decorations, cribs and many gift ideas. There will be no shortage of delicacies and drinks typical of the cold season.
The Christmas Village will, in addition, set the stage for some cultural and entertainment events.
Saturday, December 5, from the 4:30 pm, will be held on the Christmas Circus, circus arts workshop with the group “Uncertain Circus”. Children will be able to try their hand at juggling exercises (balls, plates, hoops, diablo, handkerchiefs, bolas, etc.) and balancing (ball, roller, tightrope) and on the aerial trapeze.
It will be Simone Peretti with his elf helpers to lead children to discover the magical world of the circus.
The market will open, from 3:30 pm at 19.30, from the 4 all’December 8, all weekends and from the Dec. 23 to Jan. 6, daily, excluding December 25. All cultural and entertainment events are free of charge.
