Film notes:
Pets is a cartoon rich in characters and characterizations: its structure is very similar to that offered by the Disney in the classics of the years Sixty-Seventy, when more than a very cohesive and meaningful story counted tics, jokes, hilarious scenes, a gallery of caricatures and grimaces, as well as great performances at the voiceover and pencil. All immersed here, however, in CGI technology and the fulmicotonic rhythm, to which audiences of all ages have become accustomed. Pets is an exaggerated and unbridled action comedy that does not leave a moment of respite to the spectators, overwhelmed by total antics, roaring accidents, collapses and devastation as in a kolossal cinecomic.
The dog Max lives in the utmost serenity in his routine with his mistress, at least until the mistress comes home with the huge Duke, rescued from a kennel: she will have to live with him from now on. The inevitable tension turns the first day into a colossal disaster: Max and Duke find themselves very far from home, while their dog friends (including the lovelorn Gidget) try to catch up with them, and a band of wild animals hiding in the sewers, led by the insane snowy rabbit, wants their skin.
