Thursday, June 15 “Loano not only sea”, excursion program curated by the Loano section of the C.A.I.. under the auspices of the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the Municipality of Loano will offer the opportunity to participate in the field trip to Pornassino-Quarzina in Ormea.
The meeting for participants is at 8:00 a.m. In the Valerga Square parking lot, possibly with your own car.
“As is in the logic of hiking," explains Beppe Peretti, CAI hiking companion-the further into the summer months we go, the higher the elevations of our destinations rise.
The hike will start near Pornassino(mt 1235) not far from Viozene, which we will reach by car. It will be a classic hike in the upper Tanaro valley, starting from the small hamlet of Pornassino and reaching the village of Quarzina. This hike, which will unfold with ups and downs among woods, meadow expanses and ancient hamlets mostly now reduced to uninhabited ruins (Case Pollaio, Case Merea, Case Biranco), constitutes a section of the long itinerary called “Balconata di Ormea.” The return will be on the same route as the outward journey.”
