PRESS RELEASE (9/3/2017)

L’“The Snowdrop” Association” is part of Consult@us, a second-level association that brings together 19 associations from different regions of Italy. Its goal is to bring together and give voice to all associations of family members and others who deal with DCA (Eating Disorders), so that they take on greater weight at the national level and not just the local level.

La Lilac Ribbon Day is a symbol of commitment and awareness to issues related to eating disorders, a phenomenon many times underestimated by both sufferers and family.

“The year 2017," explains Dr. Dr. Stefania Lanaro, a psychologist and psychomotor therapist, -this will be the sixth year that Consult@noi has joined the National Day of the Lilac Ribbon first promoted in 2012 by the Genoa-based association “Mi Nutro di Vita.” The initiative started from a father, Stefano Tavilla President of Mi Nutro di Vita (Liguria), who lost his daughter at just 17 years old to bulimia (on the waiting list for hospitalization in a dedicated facility). National Lilac Ribbon Day offers hope to those who are still struggling and aims to raise awareness about Eating Disorders. To bring attention to the issue from March 10 to 17 we will color the Civic Library with Lilac bows and on weekends we will be available to offer information about the day and the topic of eating disorders.’.

The information point will be open to the public on Saturday 11 from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Sunday 12 from 10 a.m. to noon and 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
