Thursday, February 23 is scheduled, in Loano, A new hike for outdoor walking enthusiasts. The weekly destination of the program “Loano not only sea”, curated by the Loano section of the C.A.I.. under the auspices of the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the Municipality of Loano, will be the Ilaria's Path.

The meeting for participants is at 8:30 a.m. In the Valerga Square parking lot.

“This week's itinerary," explains Beppe Peretti, CAI hiking companion of Loano - will start from the characteristic hamlet of Barescione in Toirano, and then go up the valley of the same name, skirting the stream and reaching the ancient Utra bridge. From here a path on the left will enter the upper valley, and will take us among woods and streams to the highest hamlet of Balestrino, Bergalla. After the usual stop for a picnic lunch we will return to Toirano crossing the other three Balestrino hamlets (Cuneo, Poggio, Borgo) and with mostly dirt roads and paths among vegetable gardens, woods and olive groves we will return to the starting base.”

The excursions are free and practicable by those with a fair amount of mountain walking training. For non-members of CAI, personal accident insurance is mandatory and must be taken out before the trip.
