Friday, December 23, a Loano, a new event of the program “Christmas enchantments”, sponsored by the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano.
At 9 p.m., in the Church of the Sisters of the Visitation (Corso Europa) on Polyphonic Choir and the City of Loano Children's Voice Choir will perform the traditional “Christmas Concert”.
The evening's program will include compositions from the sacred repertoire of Mozart, Durante and Beethoven as well as classical pieces from the Christmas tradition.
Opening the concert, conducted by the Master Mattia Pelosi, will be the “Mass” by Mozart. This will be followed by the “Magnificat” by Francesco Durante and the Christmas carol “Adeste fideles. The Loano polyphonic choir will then perform the ’Hymn to the Creator” and the ’Ode to the Night” by L.V. Beethoven. The evening will continue with the performance of some famous Christmas carols: “Entre le beuf”, “Adorabunt nationes”, “Astro del ciel”, “Joy to the world”, “Jingle bells”.
The concert will close with a performance of the Christian Thanksgiving hymn “Te Deum Laudamus”. The choir will be accompanied by organist William Vivino.
The City of Loano Polyphonic Choir, formed in 1998, is composed of more than 20 vocal elements. The repertoire that characterizes the Lovran formation is that of Baroque polyphony. As part of its music promotion activities, the association has initiated the Children's Voice Choir.
