The performer, one of the most famous of the late 1960s, will look back together with his wife Donatella his greatest successes, including the famous “Blue-eyed Lisa.
The concert will be opened by the Duo Charade.
Born in Pignataro Maggiore in September 1944, as Mario Buongiovanni, Mario Fabric He spent his adolescence and early youth in Milan, where he had moved with his family.
A music enthusiast, thanks to his friendship with Livio Macchia, singer and guitarist with the Camaleonti, he began performing live and was noticed by Miki Del Prete, Adriano Celentano's collaborator, who offered him a contract with Celentano's label, Clan Celentano.
However, during the term of the contract, he did not record any albums and therefore moved to Jaguar Records (brought there by Ricky Gianco, whom he met at the Clan).
However, his first real opportunity came with C.G.D., thanks to which he participated in the “Cantagiro” in 1967 with “Teen Agers Concert” and wins many stages.
In 1968 he began to get noticed by recording Ho scritto fine, a song composed by Don Backy that collected over 150 thousand copies sold.
The name begins to get noticed, but success comes with a return to the same event two years later: at the 1968 Cantagiro he presents “I wrote ”end',", piece written by Don Backy and sells as many as 150,000 record copies, which for a beginner turns out to be the first real success.
Opportunities were not slow in coming. He also participated in 1968 in “Seven Voices” and becomes Champion of the Year. This second achievement spurs the C.G.D. to present him to “An album for the summer” with the song “Blue-eyed Lisa”written by Giancarlo Bigazzi (lyrics) and Claudio Cavallaro (music). It came in second place but earned a gold record (almost two million copies sold) and spent three months at number one in Hit Parade.
The song quickly became one of the best-selling songs of the year, as well as one of the most iconic songs of the 1960s, remaining in the top ten for fifteen weeks.
The cinema immediately takes notice of this young man and his “Blue-eyed Lisa” makes a film out of it, directed by Bruno Corbucci. In this case too, his career continues and does not stop at the first film but continues with two more.
Also in 1969, Mario Tessuto took part in “Canzonissima” with the new song “Nose up” (500,000 copies) also written by Bigazzi and Cavallaro, which enters the charts, as well as Midnight blue blue, written by Mogol for the text and by Mario Lavezzi for music.
In 1970 he participated in the Sanremo Festival paired with Orietta Berti with “Tipitipitì” With little luck.
At some point in his career, Mario Tessuto decided to sing with Wife. Donatella To renew themselves. Together they record the 45 rpm “A little bit of us” and participate in several television programs, including. “Pronto Raffaella” and “SuperFlash.”. They also record the song “Sunday is coming” which became the theme song of the television program “Sunday goal”.
Mario Tessuto sees that the pair works and continues this innovation with increasing success.
