Thursday, July 30, a Loano, the first event, dedicated to the opera repertoire, of the musical season of the’Prince's Garden Summer Arena, promoted by the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano and organized by the I.SO THeatre.

9:30 pm, will stage the showSelected Pages by AIDA, a selection of the most beautiful and significant musical pages of operaadi Giuseppe Verdi on booklet of Antonio Ghislanzoni.

AIDA is an opera in four acts based on an original subject by Auguste Mariette. The story is set in Egypt at the time of the Pharaohs: Radames, a valiant Egyptian captain, is assigned to counter the invasion of the enemy Ethiopian army. He is in love with Aida, an Ethiopian slave girl, who is torn between her love for Radames and her affection for her people. Aida's father, also taken prisoner, spies a meeting of the two lovers, during which Radames confides to Aida the location where the Egyptian army will attack the Ethiopian army. When Aida's father exultantly emerges from his hiding place, Radames, embittered at having fallen into the trap, delivers himself into the hands of the high priest who condemns him to death. Near his tomb he unexpectedly finds Aida who bravely faces death with him.

The staging, curated by the’“Return to the Work” Association”,includes a narrated presentation of the most touching moments of the story and the presence of artists who have graced the stages of the most important Italian and foreign stages.

In the performance of the opera Aida will be performed by Christine Schmid, Radames from Alberto Angeleri, Amneris from Olga Kulicheva, Amonasro from Ivan Marino. The choreography will be danced by the The Studio Dance Corps of Albenga.

Accompanying the performance of the works on the piano will be the Franco Giacosa, the narrative voice will be by Andrea Elena.
