Awarded last night in Loano the most beautiful sand castles of 29th edition by Architects in the Grass, sand building competition sponsored by the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano in collaboration with the Marine Bathing Union of Loano.
The initiative, which involved 400 children, is confirmed as a major event of the Loano summer. In the’Prince's Garden Summer Arena, as of 9 p.m, awards evening was held accompanied by the entertainment of the I.so Theatre.
In the evening the Mayor Luigi Pignocca, along with the president of the Marine Baths Union Loano Marco Zappa, presented an award to Ms. Silvia Burastero.The professional nurse from Santa Corona Hospital earlier last month had promptly and expertly intervened, saving the life of a little girl who was in danger of drowning while swimming at a beach in Loano. Also during the evening, the following was recalled Mario Panozzo, owner of Bagni Beatrice, a well-known and respected Lovran businessman who recently passed away.
They are 61 the works that were made in the19 bathing establishments, who joined the initiative.
The works were judged by the committee chaired by Vice Mayor Remo Zaccaria, by the Councillor for State Property and Environment. Ino Tassara, from the head of the sports office Rita Calcagno and composed of Mario Giuffrida, Marina Papaleo, Carmen Fadda, Maurizia Codispoti, Matteo Silvestri, Massimo Mazzone.
The first prize went to the Dolphin Baths for the work “Witches return to Loano.” made byCamilla Saffiotti, Cristina Antonetti, Chiara Moruzzi, Maria Chiara Sartori, Chiara Burastero.
At second place ranked the castle “Welcome back Carnivalöa.” realized in the Saitta Bathrooms by Irene Ganasi, Alessandro Peirano, Federica Drovetto, Ottavia Ghezzi, Paolo Forsellini.
The third place it was the opera's turn “Marine World” built in the Marina Piccola Bathrooms by Beatrice, Francis, Mark, Rebecca, Anita.
