Saturday, May 16,a Loano, the second round of Author's Voices, an event included in the’eighth edition of“FLYING DISCS...CLOSE ENCOUNTERS WITH records, books, words and sounds.”, promoted by the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano and organized by the’Society of the Curious Association.
At 9 p.m., in the Civic Library, Kursaal Palace, will be held the meeting with. Nada and Fausto Mesolella. Music journalist John Vignola will review with the Tuscan artist her career as a performer and author.
The meeting will be a journey that will touch on the most important stages of Nada's artistic career, who will give the Loano audience some songs from her vast repertoire. In the performance she will be accompanied by Fausto Mesolella, guitarist of Avion Travel.
The collaboration between Nada and Fausto Mesolella dates back to 1994, and has won countless praise, followed by many concerts in Italy and Europe. The duo, together with Ferruccio Spinetti, created the album entitled “Nada Trio” (1997), which won the Tenco Prize and the Musicultura di Recanati Prize. Also, together, in 2001 they recorded “L'Amore è fortissimo e il corpo no” with production in collaboration with Pasquale Minieri.
Nada Malanima known to everyone simply as NADA, just 15 years old made his debut at the 1969 Sanremo Festival with “Ma che freddo fa” which became a hit not only in Italy but all over the world. This was followed by “Pà diglielo a mà“ (Sanremo 1970) and “Il cuore è uno zingaro” with which he won the Sanremo Festival in 1971.
In 1973 from meeting with Piero Ciampi “Ho scoperto che esisto anch'io” was born, an album in which Nada interprets songs written for her by Ciampi himself, a native of Livorno like herself, even then one of the most brilliant and at the same time most ignored figures in Italian music.
In 1974 the album “1930: The Monkey Tamer” the result of a collaboration with the Royal Academy of Music one of the avant-garde groups in the music scene of the 1970s.
Then in 1976 it was the turn of “Nada,” an album containing four songs written for her by Paolo Conte, as well as new compositions by Piero Ciampi.
In the following years, Nada switched from RCA to Polydor and more hits arrived, such as “Pasticcio universale,” “Dolce piu dolce,’ ”Dimmi che mi ami,“ and ”Ti stringerò.“.
There is also acting in Nada's artistic universe with Sandro Bolchi, Giulio Bosetti, Dario Fo, Marco Messeri.
In the early 1980s he firmly topped the record charts with the album ‘Smalto“ and the single ”Amore Disperato“ with which in 1983 he won Festivalbar, Azzurro, Vota la voce. In 1984 he released the fully electronic album ”Noi non cresceremo mai“ with the production of ”Goblin“ and in 1985 ”Baci Rossi“.
After fourteen years in 1987 she returned to San Remo with a song written completely by her for the first time: “Bolero.”.
After the 1992 album “L'anime nere” (co-written with Venturi & Richter), the Nada Trio project (an acoustic trio with Fausto Mesolella and Ferruccio Spinetti of Avion Travel) was born in 1994 and won countless praise and awards (from the TENCO Prize, to the MUSICULTURA Festival in Recanati). The project is documented on a CD entitled “NADA TRIO.”.
The real fundamental turning point, however, came in 1999 with the album “Dove sei sei” (Polygram/Universal), entirely written by Nada for both music and lyrics, the album - produced by Mauro Pagani - is driven by the song “guardami negli occhi” which participated in that year's Sanremo festival.
In 2003 “Tutto l'amore che mi manca” produced by John Parish for “On the road,” a multi-award winning album as best album of the year and for best lyrics and music of 2003. Cesare Basile collaborates on this album.
In 2007 the new album “ Luna in piena” (RadioFandango/Edel), with artistic production by Nada. The album's title song participated in the 2007 Sanremo Festival, and its video won the PIVI and FUTURE Film awards as best video of the year.
In 2010 after a collaboration with ZEN CIRCUS for their record in which he sings the song: EMPTY TO LOSE, he recorded the new CD “VAMP” (Infecta- Edel) produced together with Manuele “Max Stirner” Fusaroli between Ferrara and the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London.
The album was followed in summer 2011 by the “Vamp” tour with Locusta Booking production, accompanied by Zen Circus.
In winter 2011/2012 she is on tour with Lunatico Cosmico accompanied by Criminal Jokers, one of the most interesting emerging bands in the new Indi world of 2.0.
In autumn 2013 he is at Officine Meccaniche in Milan to record the new CD of unreleased songs “Occupo poco spazio” produced with Enrico Gabrielli, released in 2014.
