Everything is ready to Loano, for the’eighth edition of the Tour of the Walls - Paolo Romanisio Memorial, competitive running race scheduled Sunday, September 21.
The sports event,organized by the Runners Sports Society Loano with contributions from the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano, brings together an ever-growing number of participants from northern Italy.
“The Tour of the Walls - Paolo Romanisio Memorial - says Councillor Remo Zaccaria - thanks to the organizational skills of Runners Loano has won the hearts of many sportsmen. Associations from Lombardy and Piedmont are expected to participate again this year. Groups will be organized to join Loano to spend a day at the seaside of great sports. I am sure that our city will experience a weekend at the end of September full of tourist attendance.”
“Thanks to his path - say the organizers - the Tour of the Walls is appreciated not only by amateurs and enthusiasts, but also by top-level athletes. This race constitutes an effective technical and competitive test, as evidenced by all the illustrious participation in previous editions. As every year, the waterfront of Loano will be the scene of a challenge on a track that will be run twice for a total of 10 km FIDAL-certified and dedicated to the memory of our friend Paolo Romanisio. This eighth edition will also be made exciting by the top runners who are signing up in large numbers, making the outcome balanced and uncertain.”
In this year's edition, the route will be tested with a view to a possible candidacy of the Runners Loano to host in the 2015 event the Italian Championship of the category of Veterans of Sports.
The program of the day will include at the opening, at 9.30, the race of the little ones on the Tour of the Walls Baby (1 km) Dedicated to under-14s (free registration).
The meet and finish of the competitive running race will be in Italy Square, the departure (10 a.m.) in Cadorna Square.
At 12 noon, on the stage of the’Prince's Garden Summer Arena prizes will be awarded to the winners absoluti, those of the various categories and the many amateurs who will take part in the eighth edition of the Tour of the Walls of Loano.
