PRESS RELEASE (25/08/2014)
Tuesday, August 26, a Loano, the review “Culture Tuesdays” promoted by the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano and curated by the I.So THeatre, will host the last author meeting of the summer.
At 6:30 pm, in the Prince's Garden, Graziella Frasca Gallo will dialogue with the well-known mystery writer Maurizio De Giovanni who will present his latest novel “At the bottom of your heart” (2014, Einaudi Publisher).
The Commissioner Ricciardi's seventh novel (after The sense of pain, The condemnation of blood, Everyone's place, Day of the Dead, By my hand e Viper) brings investigations and feelings together and offers a gallery of nuanced characters representing the beating heart of Naples, the city that surely lies deep in Maurizio de Giovanni's heart.
Commissioner Ricciardi and his trusted right-hand man, Brigadier Maione, are in trouble. The hellish heat of the summer of 1932 in Naples was not enough. It also took the mysterious fall out of the window of a powerful and ambitious doctor to complicate matters: for Ricciardi and Maione both have their heads elsewhere, caught up in the one's inability to choose between the two women in his life -- to say nothing of his problems with his elderly nanny Rosa -- and the other in jealousy over his wife that will lead him to lose himself in a private investigation. And the unbearable heat, along with the city's frenzy in the run-up to the feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, counterbalance the icy curse of Commissioner Ricciardi, condemned to see those who have died violent deaths and to hear their last thoughts endlessly.
The meeting with the author will be accompanied by the notemusical notes performed by Maestro Roberto Sinito. The ’meeting will close with the’aperitif.
