Friday, August 18 a Loano, ANTONIO ORNANO will be the guest speaker at the last cabaret of the review of major events “Dreams Festival”, promoted by the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano and edited by Event Size, under the artistic direction of Ivan Fabio Perna.
At 21.30, in the summer arena Prince's Garden the Zelig comedian will present the show “Stand up tart”, written by the artist together with Carlo Turati, Matteo Monforte and Simone Repetto, directed by Davide Balbi.
Antonio Ornano, a captivating monologueist in the guise of a professor biologist and naturalist, has as his main object of study the human animal and its behavioral dynamics, with special emphasis on those within the relationship.
Ornano creates hilarious sketches about couple dynamics where the sweet “tart” a.k.a. his sweetheart misses no opportunity to test the Professor's nerves.
The natural world's funniest and most irreverent ethologist, who has been treading the Zelig stage for several seasons entertaining audiences with hilarious comparisons between the animal and human worlds, will present a stand-up comedian monologue, au naturel, without stage trappings or disguises.
“Stand up tart” is a heart-to-heart confession in front of the audience with whom, as in a self-help group, she shares weaknesses, frustrations and obsessions ranging from couple life to children to pets. It is a life story deeply marked by many figures evoked on stage - bipolar directors, life coaches, masons - but above all by a winning and prevaricating female figure, the sweet ’tart“ who is none other than Ornano's sweetheart. The contemporary male described in the play is anything but dominant; he is an often inadequate father and husband compressed by responsibilities and duties that lead him to outbursts of anger as tumultuous as they are liberating, for him and for an audience that cannot help but empathize with situations we have all experienced.
“Who hasn't had to indulge a wife's passions for Christmas markets, for tupperware, for walk-in closets, for the constant revolution of home furniture. Who among us, leaving for the vacations, has not had to jump through hoops to stuff a wife's luggage inside the car. And how many women, how many wives, tolerate their partners” insane passion for barbecuing? We are full of fears, but sometimes such fears, if you go to meet them, vanish. And that is how despite our flaws we continue to love each other. Even if love, especially for the male, does not always rhyme with fidelity."
