Friday, August 4, a Loano, PAOLA TURCI will be featured in the musical season of “Dreams Festival”, promoted by the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano and edited by Event Size, under the artistic direction of Ivan Fabio Perna.
Performer with an intense voice, Paola Turci, in concert at 21.30, in the summer arena Prince's Garden, will present his latest album “The second heart“, published by Warner Music Italy.
The Roman artist's latest endeavor, this album comes at the end of a long journey the singer has been on in search of a new self-awareness, once she has healed the physical and soul wounds caused by the terrible accident in which she was involved on August 15, 1993.
Since their debut in the mid-1980s, approximately. 30 years, in which Paola Turci's career has developed following different artistic phases, each corresponding to a continuous personal quest.
Her discography recounts all of this, from her first happy songwriting experiments (“Girl alone, blue girl,” “Paola Turci,” “Back to the present,” and “Candido”) to the more ambitious albums (“Ragazze” and “Una sgommata e via”) released before the great commercial success that came with “Oltre le nuvole” and “Mi basta il paradiso” in the late 1990s. The 2000s, on the other hand, coincided with a return to her more intimate artistic instances, told through albums such as ‘Questa parte di mondo“ and ”Tra i fuochi in mezzo al cielo,“ interspersed with each other shortly after by the live ”Stato di calma apparente“ and followed, between 2009 and 2012, by a veritable trilogy dedicated to love, the feminine and her view of the world with ”Attraversami il cuore,“ ”Giorni di rose“ and ”Le storie degli altri.“.
Nine Sanremo Festival appearances in the competition, two as a guest duet (in 2008 and 2014), with a victory in the “Emergenti” category (in 1989 with the song “Bambini”) and three Critics“ Awards (in 1987 with ”Primo tango,“ in 1988 with ”Sarò bellissima,“ and in 1989 with ”Bambini“), a victory at the Cantagiro, countless other awards and gold and platinum records in addition to hundreds and hundreds of concerts held throughout Italy; her constant commitment to Emergency, the Francesca Rava Foundation and its projects in favor of childhood in the world and even two books, a novel (”Con te accanto,“ written together with journalist Eugenia Romanelli and published by Rizzoli) and an autobiography (”Mi amerò lo stesso" published by Mondadori), only partially showcase Paola Turci's artist stature and personality.
Her unmistakable voice, her very personal streak as an author, her spontaneity and magnetism on stage are the elements that have made her one of the most important and popular singers in Italy, capable of building and preserving a personal and privileged relationship with her audience because of how faithful and direct she can be.
After the success of the anthology album “I am” (Warner Music, 2015) - top 10 best-selling album - and a tour that took her all over Italy in September 2016 Paola stages a monologue inspired by her autobiography “I will still love myself”, debuting, to great public and critical acclaim, at the Teatro Menotti in Milan.
After 16 years, in 2017 Paola Turci returns to Sanremo with the song “Make it beautiful for you”, written together with Giulia Ananìa, Luca Chiaravalli, and Davide Simonetta and produced by Luca Chiaravalli. The single anticipates her new unreleased album due out at the end of March.
“Make yourself beautiful” means “Commit to achieving acceptance, telling yourself sincerely that you like yourself. Loving yourself goes far beyond putting on makeup”.
This new work, alongside Paola's career hits, became first a live concert and then a real tour (with RTL 102.5 partner), which will touch many Italian cities during the summer, including Loano.
