The wagon Dragon Trainer and Masha and The Bear carried out by the group of Fortress Square won the Village Palio of Carnevalöa 2016, organized by the’Old Loano Association with contributions from the’Department of Tourism and Culture of the City of Loano.
The floats, which returned to parade on the Loano promenade after a 5-year absence, were warmly welcomed by more than 20 thousand people.
On Corso Roma they paraded 14 carts accompanied by the musical notes of the Dogliani band and folk ensemble and by the ironic cover band “This time my wife sends me to... Funk”. Announcing the floats and winners was. Maurilio by Ligurian Wave Radio.
The Village Palio recorded the success of Dragon Trainer and Masha and The Bear (Rock Square). In second place was the float The Minions (I Mazzocchi I Mattetti Burdellusi) and in the third Kung Fu Panda (Borgo di Dentro).
Special prizes were awarded to the other floats: the Best Costume Award went to The tree of life (Via Stella Scuole Rossello Loano), the Originality Award a Arlo's journey (The Priglians), the Set design award a Star Wars (The Meceti) and the Cheerfulness award a Speedy Gonzales (Maina de Löa - Cafe ‘900, Class Cafe, Ice Cream Frozen).
Sunday, February 28 will close the Lovran carnival festival with the Palio Dei Comuni. The carnival competition between municipalities, which will kick off at the 3 p.m.
