PRESS RELEASE (12/11/2016)

A Loano will remain on display until the November 25 the art exhibition «Eclectic», organized by the art high school «Giordano Bruno» of Albenga, under the auspices of the Municipality of Loano.

In the Mosaic Hall of Palazzo Doria are exhibited the works created by the students of the nine art classes. The exhibition spans the school's various art disciplines: pictorial, plastic, geometric and scenic design.

“The good cooperation continues," says Mayor Luigi Pignocca - between our city and the Giordano Bruno High School in Albenga, initiated on the occasion of the creation of the statue of St. Sebastian by the students of the Artistic School. It was precisely on the occasion of the installation and unveiling of the work that the idea of the art exhibition that we are hosting today in the city hall was born.”

A meeting between school and territory, made possible thanks to the commitment of the students of all addresses, the efforts of the teachers who supervised them, and the willingness of our hosts, especially the City of Loano, whom I thank.says Prof. Simonetta Barile, School Director of the high school - It is an initiative that is of great value to us. The high school is not new to moments that bring school and territory together, but this is perhaps one of the most important.

The exhibition is articulated through the display of works created by the students of the various addresses. One can admire sculptures, paintings, set design projects, scale models of some set designs, works in which the multiple thematic paths of visual languages are evinced. The works on display highlight the uniqueness and beauty of various artistic techniques: such as some restoration or engraving techniques featured in the exhibition, or some ancient masonry techniques, such as the Roman-style mosaics of some artifacts made by pupils through school-work alternation projects. The exhibition promoted by Headmaster Prof. Simonetta Barile was coordinated by the various address teachers: Prof. Massimiliano Vario, Prof. Pietro Marchese, Prof. Lorenzo Rossi, Prof. Arianna Rossello, Prof. Leda Cupelli, Prof. Mauro Panichella, Prof. Leslie Lucy Ameto. An exhibition full of educational experiences that highlight a common denominator: the passion of making under the banner of creativity.

The exhibition can be visited Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
