Sunday, September 15, Loano reproposes the spectacular competitive running race Tour of the Walls - Paolo Romanisio Memorial, organized by the Runners Sports Society Loano with contributions from the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano.

“The increasing participation of athletes from all over northern Italy and the presence at the race of distinguished names from the international cycling scene, - says Councillor Remo Zaccaria - leave the organizers, who set a goal of reaching 500 registrants this year, hopeful. Sunday's race - explain the organizers - promises to be a record edition of the Tour of the Walls. The list of big favorites begins with Valerio Brignone ( Cambiaso Risso Running Team - Genoa ) who only a few weeks ago on Lovran soil crossed the finish line with arms raised in the first edition of the Marina Classic run inside the Loano harbor.

His experience and current form rightfully place him among the favorites in the race.

Countering his bid for the top step of the podium will be Tunisian champion Khelifi Mehdi (Atletica Acquaviva delle fonti - Bari )winner of the first edition of the Riviera Run half-marathon and three-time Tunisia cross-country champion, credited with 28’35” on the 10,000 and 13’38” on the 5,000, as well as 1h02’51” on the half-marathon , times of absolute international value.

In the group of pretenders to victory should also be noted the Tunisian Chihaoui Ridha (Cambiaso Risso Running Team - Genoa) , winner of the second edition of the Tour of the Walls, and Moroccan Mohamed Rity (Podistica Peralto - Genoa) as well as Luca Campanella two-year winner of the classic Alpicella-Monte Beigua uphill race.

From Apulia also the outsider Emanuele Margheriti figures among the pretenders to success.

Competing for first place in the women's field will likely be. Clara Rivera (Cairo Athletics) who recently at the Master World Games in Turin finished third in the half marathon and fifth in the 10,000, and Eleonora Serra , placed second in the 2,000 steeplechase in the same event.
