Monday, August 3, a Loano in the’Prince's Garden Summer Arena, at 21.30 the curtain will rise on the musical “The first to be called Francis.”. Starring in the show inspired by the life of Pope Bergoglio will be. Dario Baldan Bembo, Elisabetta Viviani, Franco Romeo and the pianist Veronica Rudian.

The evening, part of the season's playbill at Prince's Garden, is sponsored by the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano and organized by the I.So THeatre with the artistic direction of Luca Malvicini.

On stage, the artists will interweave songs with biographical narrative, all enhanced by the authors' imaginative storytelling Adriano Bonfanti and Gigi Reggi.

The audience will retrace the ’adventure” of Bergoglio, who left Argentina to attend the Conclave and returned as Pontiff. A man at once simple and charismatic, whose tenderness and firmness shook the foundations of the Church.

The theatrical-musical journey will touch on moments in the life of the Pontiff who came from the other side of the world: his first steps as a Jesuit Father in the most difficult areas of Argentina, the unique lifestyle practiced when he was Archbishop of the capital Buenos Aires, until that evening of March 13, 2013. In St. Peter's Square, the white smoke behind the dome announced that the Church had found a new pastor, Jorge Mario Bergoglio, who introduced himself as Pope Francis.

The music for the show was composed by. Dario Baldan Bembo and by Ligurian pianist and composer Veronica Rudian.

Ticket cost: full € 10,00, reduced € 8,00 (Reduced ticket valid for those under 18 and over 70. Children under 12, free admission). Presale fee 1,50.
