Thursday, June 8 the hiking review “Loano not only sea”, curated by the Loano section of the C.A.I.. under the auspices of the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the Municipality of Loano, will provide a new opportunity to spend a pleasant day outdoors.
The destination of the hike will be the Bossea Caves and surroundings.
The meeting for participants will be at 7:00 a.m. in the parking lot of Valerga Square.
“This week's field trip, which will be conducted by bus," explains Beppe Peretti, CAI hiking guide - plans a morning visit to the Bossea caves, (m 836, Mondovì area), some of the most important caves in Europe from a scientific point of view. The walk, which is easy and suitable for everyone, will last just over an hour and will go inside a fascinating hypogeal environment, traversed throughout its development by an evocative underground river.
At the end of the visit there will be a tasting of local specialties offered by some local producers. Then on foot we will head to the locality Fontane (m 957), which we will reach with a short walk of half an hour and an elevation gain of just over 100 m. After a lunch break, we will face the return walk that will take us back to the cave parking lot where the bus will be waiting for us.”
