Thursday, March 23 the hiking review “Loano not only sea”, curated by the Loano section of the C.A.I.. under the auspices of the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the Municipality of Loano, will provide a new opportunity to spend a pleasant day outdoors.
End point of this week's itinerary will be the Our Lady of the Snow in the Imperia region behind Albenga.
The meeting for participants will be at 8:30 a.m. In the Valerga Square parking lot.
“The walk," explains Beppe Peretti, CAI hiking companion of Loano - will start from Gavenola along a small road that will plunge into the forest and cross it by climbing up the mountainside and finally leading to a beautiful and spacious plateau where the small shrine of the Madonna della Neve (mt 934) stands, which will offer a beautiful panoramic view of the Arroscia Valley below and the surrounding mountains.
On the grassy saddle of Madonna della Neve we will eat a picnic lunch and then return to Gavenola by a loop trail that will descend beside the Gazzo church and take us back to the cars.
In Gavenola we will also have the opportunity to visit the church of St. Columba, inside which there are important works of art, not only of local interest.”.
The excursions are free. For participation in the trips of non-CAI members, accident and mountain rescue insurance is required, which must be requested by noon on the day before the activity is to be held by calling 019.67.23.66 or 349.78.54.220.
