Saturday, February 18, at Loano, the first of two appointments of the CarnevaLöa 2017 dedicated to the children.
The Loano carnival, organized by the’Old Loano Association with contributions from the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano also this year includes more than one initiative.
After the handing over of the keys with the parade of masks from Liguria, Piedmont, Lombardy, Emilia Romagna e Veneto, which was held in late January, children will be the stars for two consecutive Saturdays of the most fun party of the year.
The appointment for the first afternoon of games, entertainment and music will be in Italy Square, starting with the 3 p.m.. Waiting for the children will be “U Beciancìn.”, King of Carnival and the official mask of Carnevalöa, and “U Puè Peppin” the traditional carnival mask at Loano.
The little ones will have fun playing masquerade with original costumes, colorful wigs and colorful makeup. For one day they will dress up in the outfits of famous fairy tale protagonists or characters born from mothers' imaginationsThe party will close with a snack of carnival sweets.
The CarnevaLöa of children will return the February 25 in Place Massena With the traditional piñata.
The largest carnival in Liguria will then give two parades of floats in the beautiful setting of the Loano waterfront.
I 13 carts made by carnival artisans will parade down Corso Roma (waterfront) on the February 26 and the March 5, accompanied by marching bands, majorettes and walking masked groups.
Sunday, February 26 as part of the parade will take place the Village Palio, a carnival competition involving floats representing the villages of Loano. The March 5 the carnival festival will close with the Palio of the Commons, which will compare floats from the riparian and inland municipalities that have joined the event.
