Thursday, January 26 is scheduled, in Loano, A new hike for outdoor walking enthusiasts. The weekly destination of the program “Loano not only sea”, curated by the Loano section of the C.A.I.. under the auspices of the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the Municipality of Loano, it will be Mount Bignone (m 521), on the heights of Albenga and Alassio.
The meeting for participants is at 8:30 a.m. In the Valerga Square parking lot.
“The hike will start from Vadino in Albenga. - He explains. Beppe Peretti, CAI hiking companion of Loano -assuming from the small church of Our Lady of Loreto, we will ascend a scenic ridge until we reach a junction. Here participants will be able to choose between two itineraries: on the left, they will climb to the top of Mount Bignone, flanking the ruins of a small barracks and a shrine dedicated to the Madonna, and following this they will tackle a few short stretches of easy rocks on the descent; on the right, they will climb more quietly up the side of the mountain without touching the summit, directly reaching the Sella del Bignone, a place where the two groups will meet for the usual mid-day snack. After the break, the return will be along a very beautiful and spectacular route, the Wave Trail, which will take us back to Albenga.”
The excursions are free and practicable by those with a fair amount of mountain walking training. For non-members of CAI, personal accident insurance is mandatory and must be taken out before the trip.
