From Sept. 15 to 17, a Loano, the hamlet Verzi celebrate Santa Libera.
On the occasion of the festival, on the lawn in front of the Shrine of Saint Libera, the traditionalfestival with typical Ligurian dishes e alcune specialità della cucina “verzina”, organized by the’Verzi Group Association.
Food stands will open daily from 7 p.m. and the September 15 also at noon.
Giovedì 15 settembre at 11 a.m. will take place the Solemn Mass in the Shrine.
In the afternoon, at 5 p.m. dopo i vespri si svolgerà la procession among the olive trees with the participation of the’St. Mary Immaculate Music Association of Loano.
L’intitolazione della chiesetta di Borgata Quarzi a Santa Liberata risale al Settecento. Il culto della Santa era giunto nella località campestre via mare. Durante le due guerre che insanguinarono il XX secolo i giovani loanesi invocarono la protezione della Santa e al temine del secondo conflitto la portarono in processione.
