La Erba Matta Theater Company will stage “The Three Little Pigs” Show of actor and animated puppets on sight.

The scenography is a unique element in every show by Daniele Debernardi. With the aim of bringing the world of pigs and their fantastic homes to life in a credible way, a child-sized set inspired by pop-up books was created for this show. The setting is in constant metamorphosis thanks to a series of periatti, triangular-based scenographic constructions that develop and transform as they rotate. The houses, trees, and pigsty change shape before the audience's eyes in a magical arrangement of spaces.

The traditional fairy tale, revisited by Teatrino dell'Erba Matta, begins with the end of school. Finally, the three little pigs enjoy their well-deserved summer vacation in the countryside, far from their schoolbooks. The three friends are Lallo, a piglet who plays guitar and sings protest songs, Giggi, disco boar devouring fries with ketchup and mayonnaise, The Tweety, fine-brained pig, organized and technological lover of computer calculations, cell phone.

The happy vacation is interrupted by terrible news appearing on the front page of the “Gazzetta del porcile”: the famous Steppenwolf Stanislaus Stanislasky has escaped from the zoo and is looking for something to eat. The three friends set about building shelters to defend themselves from possible attacks. Is it better to use straw, wood, or bricks?

The Mad Grass Theater is a significant national theater production company, which has its production center Vezzi Portio in the hinterland of Finale Ligure. The strong point of the theater project directed by Daniele Debernardi  is the ongoing journey of narrative research, through the use of animated puppetry and the original elaboration of music and sounds.

The company will return on August 24 with “The Steadfast Tin Soldier”, a dreamlike and imaginative retelling of the fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen, in which, among enormous objects, the actor-narrator will become the spirit of the toys and give them voice and life.

The last event with the Teatrino dell'Erba Matta will be on August 31 with another fairy tale “Puss in Boots”. In the adaptation of Daniele Debernardi, which will use animated figure theater techniques performed by an actor, with characters jumping out of small theaters whose sets are based on Van Gogh's paintings.

The children's theater program will be completed by the show A Wide Variety of Charlatans (August 17). La Company of Charlatans will create an entertaining show, in which, between jokes, clubs, balls, torches, and rings will fly through the air, and classic magic tricks will be performed.

The theater evenings are at free admission.
