The documentary series will conclude at 9:30 pm, in the’Prince's Garden Summer Arena, the film “I Core: my climbing family”(2012) by Angelo Poli.

Angelo Poli's documentary film is dedicated to Christian Core, a multiple sport climbing champion, and to his climbing family.

The Core family is very special. Christian was world champion in bouldering, a type of sport climbing, and Stella was Italian champion.

They live in a valley not far from Savona and have two daughters, but their story is inextricably linked to the woods overlooking Varazze.

Together with other climbers from the area, including Elia Corso and Marco Bagnasco, they searched for, found, and cleaned rocks to climb with increasingly extreme difficulty, bringing to light a climbing spot that is now famous all over the world.

In particular, they discovered a rock and a route considered to be the most difficult in the world, named “Gioia” by Christian, the first climber.

The documentary delves into the history of the Core brothers, starting from way back when, as young boys, they approached the world of climbing in an area rich in history: the Ligurian Riviera and the Finale area.

The fresco is composed through the vivid voices of the protagonists: Christian's cousin, Alessandro, his companion on his first rope climbs, Fulvio Scotto, Christian's mountaineer and physical education teacher in high school, the climbers of Varazze, the friends with whom the Core family traveled the world in search of the perfect line, the perfect rock, and then Lorenzo Malatesta, a 13-year-old boy to whom Christian is trying to pass on his passion for this sport.

Immersed in the magic of the Ligurian hinterland forests with the rugged coastline on the horizon, Christian guides viewers on his inner and athletic journey, recounting the difficulties and sacrifices he made to become world champion, revealing a world of resin, rock, sweat, and chalk.

The evening is at free admission.
