Thursday, July 21, a Loano, the calendar of events, promoted by the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano proposes the guided tour “Inside the Walls” curated by the CTG Loano and in the evening a new event of the review “Concerts from the Balcony.”.
The afternoon will be dedicated to discovering the architectural heritage “within the walls” of the city. The meeting point is at 5 p.m. in front of Palazzo Doria. The itinerary will take in Piazza Italia with Palazzo Doria, Fontana Giovanna, and Torre Pentagonale. It will then wind through the streets of the historic center: Piazza Rocca with Palazzo Richeri and Porta Marina, Via Garibaldi with the birthplace of Maria Rosa Nicoletta Raimondi, mother of Giuseppe Garibaldi, Porta Passorino, the palaces of the historic center built between the 15th and 17th centuries, Palazzo del Comandante, Oratorio dei Turchini, and the 17th-century church of San Giovanni Battista. At 20.30, in Palestro Square will continue the review “Concerts from the Balcony” dedicated to swing.
Renzo Luise Gipsy Trojka will explore the lively sounds of gypsy swing, with tributes to musician Django Reinhardt and gypsy reinterpretations of famous songs.
Renzo Luise is one of Italy's leading guitarists in the field of traditional jazz. After years devoted to studying the style of Django Reinhardt and swing guitarists, he focused on the repertoire of the pioneers of jazz guitar in the 1920s, such as Eddie Lang, Lonnie Johnson, and Carl Kress. Together with Renzo Luise (guitar) will play two other musicians from Liguria. Eros (guitar), Dino Cerruti (double bass).
