PRESS RELEASE (11/02/2016)
Saturday, February 13, a Loano, to the 4 p.m., at Council Chamber in Doria Palace, the presentation of the book ”Nicholas Leon. The General Child”, organized by the’UNITRE of Loano under the auspices of the Municipality of Loano.
The meeting with the author John Gargano, led by the UNITRE president of Loano. Umberta Bolognesi, will feature the president of the Women's Telephone Anti-Violence Center province of Savona, Luciana Nanni.
The author will tell a story of resilience: the ability to overcome the injustices that life presents us without succumbing, the possibilities and resources for dealing with grief in the family and with children.
“The story of General Nicholas, is basically every parent's nightmare. When you become a father or mother, the first thing you think about and pray for is that the little one or the little one will be well, be healthy. Such was not the case for Nicolo, a misfortune and an adverse fate, which did not stop insisting until it had its way with a young life that everything had yet to be discovered. But the stinking fate, had not yet reckoned with Gianni and his family a cohesive and powerful team, with a fighting spirit, that did not give in, did not bend to the impossible-to-describe pain that such an event can procure. No, they did not. Nicholas did not die. The general left for a new mission in the service of the Angels.
So wrote Gianni that morning, leaving me breathless for five seconds. I needed a moment to realize what was happening or rather what had happened. But soon after that I realized who was writing to me and then everything was clearer. Fate and misfortune would not win, they had come up against an opponent impossible to beat. Nicolo lives, The General will always live inside each of us, every time we don't give up, every time we answer the jinx with a smile, every time we remember, that only if you give up you have lost but if you don't give up, you will never lose and Nicolo will live forever.”
The meeting will be accompanied by the voice and guitar of David Turci.
