Saturday, August 15, a Loano, in the’Prince's Garden Summer Arena, star of the big events of the summer music season will be Chanty & The Chain Gang.
The concert, which will kick off at 21.30, is included in the billboard promoted by the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano and curated by the I.So THeatre with the artistic direction of Luca Malvicini.
In the evening, the Savona-based lineup will present a journey through the history of black music along with original songs that make up “Wake Up And Get Out,” a debut album launched on the scene by the video for the single “Don't Ever Let Go.” The pop/soul project, captained by Tanzanian Chantal Saroldi (Sanremo Giovani 2015, winner of the Camerino Jazz and Umbria Jazz awards) offers live the brand new songs, also tracing the history of black music, bringing to life sounds halfway between the classic Motown soul and its new fusions with contemporary pop (Sam Cooke, Stevie Wonder, Otis Redding, Temptations, Amy Winehouse, Alicia Keys,...).
Chantal Saroldi, aka Chanty, was born in Tanzania and also lived in Taiwan for a few years before coming to study and work in Italy. She studied Jazz Singing at the Conservatory of Cuneo and has a series of educational experiences behind her that allowed her to start her solo career: she won the Golden Disc Festival, ranking first in the Inediti & Cantautori section.
Participates in the prestigious jazz soloist competition Massimo Urbani Award and receives a Scholarship from Jury President Enrico Rava for Paolo Fresu's Nuoro Jazz festival.As part of Berklee's College of Music Workshop at Umbria Jazz ’12, she wins a Scholarship for the summer program of the famous Boston music university and performs as a soloist in one of the concerts scheduled at Umbria Jazz. She later became involved in the opening concert at Umbria Jazz Winter in Orvieto. She attends Berklee's summer program in Boston the summer of 2013. Chanty is followed in her artistic growth by 3esessanta Management, and joins the roster of artists of the historic record label Carosello Records. She writes as an author for national and international artists for Edizioni Curci.
In February 2015, he participated in the Sanremo Festival in the Young People's category with the song “Ritornerai” receiving positive reviews from the press, participated in numerous soul and jazz festivals.
The band The Chain Gang is composed ofDavid Canepa on guitar, David Medicine bass, Thomas Delfino on keyboards and Nicola Arecco to the battery.
