PRESS RELEASE (08/26/2013)

Tuesday, August 27, a Loano, at 20,00, in Italy Square, the initiative Circus...Sailing, will mark the closing of the circus workshop, organized as part of the summer activity of the Solar Field, promoted by the’Department of Social Services of the City of Loano and curated by the social cooperative City of Savona Project for the Social Consortium The Sextant.

The small circus game was the main theme of the summer's educational and recreational activities at solar camp. Starting with circus arts, moments of play and sports were developed. In July and August, the children and young people went on a journey (by sea and land...) that took them to Develop their motor skills, in particular those related to the rhythm, balance, coordination, concentration, ed bodily expressiveness.

“The balance of the 2013 Solar Camp," explains Councillor Luca Lettieri - is positive in many ways. The membership was large (120) and the program of activities offered over the summer was appreciated by both participants and families, because it combined the educational project with fun. In addition to acting positively on the motor development of the children/youth, the small circus game helped develop other fundamental aspects for the harmonious growth of their personalities such as the socialization, creativity, collaboration and mutual trust, and the ability to perform in public.”

Throughout the summer, sports and arts activities such as artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, juggling, dance, and theater were offered. Each child learned the art of clowning and tried their hand at small skits performing in front of their playmates. Some children together with their parents devoted themselves to stage sets, costumes, props and makeup rehearsals. At the conclusion of this course, the children and youth will perform in public with a real street theater show. Italy Square will be invaded by a friendly and colorful army: 120 small artists among acrobats, clowns, jugglers, musicians, illusionists and equilibrists. The evening will close with the performance of the Circus School Macramé.

The educators who supervised and led the solar camp activities are part of the social cooperative “City Project” of Savona and were supported by the circus school Macramé by Marco Donda.

The Solar Camp service (for children and girls aged between 3 and 12 years old) will remain active until the September 13.
