The Iat office of Loano will reopen on Friday, April 15 (at its historic location in Kursaal Palace).
“Once the pandemic period has passed,‘ explain Loano Mayor Luca Lettieri and Tourism Councillor Enrica Rocca, ’and we have returned to an ‘almost normalcy,’ in agreement with Pro Loco Loano we have decided to return the Iat office to its original location on the seaside promenade. The premises have been refurbished and equipped with all the necessary material to provide our guests with every possible information to better experience the ”sea of possibilities' offered by Loano and its district.".
The Tourist Information and Reception Office will be managed by Pro Loco Loano, which as a social promotion association has as its basic purposes “the protection and promotion of the territory and its tourist-cultural peculiarities, the promotion and undertaking of initiatives, the realization of events for the knowledge and appreciation of the landscape, urban and environmental development of the locality, reception services, tourist protection and information, information and awareness-raising activities for tourist economic development, activities aimed at cultural and social exchanges.”.
The Pro Loco of Loano will distribute promotional materials (also in foreign languages) on local and Liguria tourist attractions. It will also provide information on tourist and non-tourist services; accommodation and catering offerings; modes of transportation, timetables of public establishments and utilities; historical-artistic and natural resources; and tourist and hiking itineraries. It will also promote cooperation with local associations engaged in organizing leisure and sports events and manifestations in order to enhance the area's resources; promote the city's sports facilities; and be in contact with the other IATs in the district and the “In Liguria” agency.
The objectives are: to protect and retain potential and existing tourist clientele, and to fully meet the needs of users in order to increase attendance; to provide information about the area through conveying, to users, the richness of cultural, sports, environmental heritage of tourist resources.
The office is located on the first floor of Kursaal Palace, Corso Roma, on the side at the corner with the Pulin playground. During this period it will be open Tuesday through Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m. From January to March, the office will be open Thursday through Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m.; from April to September and in December from Tuesday through Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m.; in July and August from Monday through Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.; and in October and November from Thursday through Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m. You can contact the staff by phone on 019 67 56 94 (extension 341) or 328.896.0085 or send an e-mail to iatprolocoloano@gmail.com.
