“Also for this holiday season,” explain Loano Mayor Luigi Pignocca and Councillor for Tourism, Culture and Sports Remo Zaccaria, "we have decided to offer our fellow citizens and guests the chance to say goodbye to the old year and welcome the new year with a great free event under the banner of music and entertainment. The live broadcast on the frequencies of M2O, one of the best-known radio stations in our country, is a very important opportunity to make our city and its many events even more known, just like New Year's Eve in the Square.".
After another exciting summer in the city, therefore, the big events continue with a New Year's Eve dedicated to the whole family, but with a special focus on the youngest: “Over the course of its various editions,‘ Pignocca and Zaccaria add, ’the party has achieved gradually increasing success: on the evening of December 31, Piazza Italia welcomes families with children, couples and young people of all ages who choose to start the New Year at Loano. This once again confirms how our city is a great ”tourist village' capable of catering to the tastes of every guest. Tourism is our main economy and it is important to support it all year round with strong entertainment events that appeal to as wide a range of tourists as possible. So this year during the holiday season we will again welcome tourists with concerts, markets and shows for the little ones.".
The party, organized by the Tourism, Culture and Sports Department of the Municipality of Loano with the collaboration of Dimensione Eventi (which has been managing the summer arena in the Prince's Garden since 2017 and which also organized this year's regional award-winning Notte Bianca “Festival del Mare” in Sanremo) will kick off on December 31 at 10:15 p.m. in Piazza Italia, right in front of the Palazzo Doria town hall: here the scenic stage-truck will be placed, which will be the centerpiece of the evening. In case of bad weather, on Dec. 30 the organizers will decide whether to move the event inside the sports hall, so that the party can be held whatever the weather.
Opening the event will be the band Discomania Planet Dance, which will offer a show of the best dance music of all time full of dynamism, involvement and professionalism, all key ingredients for a perfect evening of fun. Discomania Planet Dance faithfully reproduce live the legendary tracks from the golden age of disco. Each of their shows is an explosive party of fun and dance, with precise and pressing performances, mixed setlists and an appealing and colorful look that reproduces in every detail the typical style of that fantastic musical period.
The Discomania Planet Dance band will accompany the audience until a few minutes before the chimes of midnight, when the countdown will be handed over, complete with live national radio broadcast, to three DJs from a major Italian dance radio station: M20. Announcing the first minute of 2019 will be Renèe La Bulgara, Andrea Mattei and Chiara Robiony.
The evening will continue again in the company of Discomania Planet Dance until around 2 a.m., when the show will end.
