“Loano not only sea” proposes for Thursday, April 20 A classic excursion, but along a new route. The excursion organized by the Loano section of the C.A.I.. under the auspices of the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the Municipality of Loano will have which destination Evigno Peak (mt, 988).
The meeting for participants will be at 8:30 a.m. In the Valerga Square parking lot at Loano.
“The Pizzo d'Evigno," explains Beppe Peretti, CAI hiking companion of Loano - is a historic peak that we have reached on several occasions. But this time we will climb it by a route that starts from Chiusanico and has never been hiked by our group so far.
The hike to Pizzo d'Evigno will begin from the hamlet of Castello di Chiusanico: we will cross the entire hamlet, following the signposts and take a mule track, at first quite steep and then gradually easier, that will take us to the glue of Pizzo Montin. From this area, once rich in pastures and boxes, we will continue along a scenic, grassy ridge to the final attack. Here, with a final stretch of decidedly steep but nevertheless short and walkable trail, we will ascend the pyramidal structure of Pizzo d'Evigno and reach its summit, where a large Cross, an elegant slender statue of the Madonna and an altar stand out.
The return will follow the same route as the ascent.
The excursion is free. For non-CAI members to participate in the outing, accident and mountain rescue insurance is required, which must be requested by noon on the day before the activity is to be held by calling 019.67.23.66 or 349.78.54.220.{:}
