Wednesday, April 5, a Loano, a screening of the documentary film “I go to school” by Pascal Plisson, addressed to pupils participating in the project. Pedibus, promoted by the’Municipal Police Department and coordinated by the P.M. Command. in collaboration with the Valerga and Milanesi Primary School.

The film chronicles the daily challenges faced by four children (Zahira in Morocco), Jackson in Kenya, Carlos in Argentina, and Samuel in India) in reaching their schools. Driven by the desire for knowledge and the hope for a better future, the four protagonists stubbornly face all the adversities of their surroundings.

The initiative, organized with the collaboration of Pedibus volunteers, is part of the activities aimed at promoting the “Pedibus” sustainable mobility project, which for the 2016/17 school year was joined by 111 children.

“The Pedibus service, which for this year proposed 3 walking routes for the Valerga plexus and 2 for the Milanese, continues with positive results. - Say the Mayor of Loano, Luigi Pignocca and Councillor Enrica Rocca - Children who joined the Pedibus project walk to school every day accompanied by volunteers. The grandparents, parents and ordinary citizens who joined the project have made significant contributions to the success of the initiative. They will also collaborate in the many initiatives planned by the Municipal Police Command in collaboration with the school in the area of traffic education. Last Saturday they helped us, on the occasion of the event “Fill up on engines and not on alcohol.”, in the booth that the Local Police set up to give information and to show the equipment they have: speed cameras, breathalyzers, etc. The search for volunteers will continue throughout the year in order to ensure the best and longest service. At April Pedibus volunteers will collaborate on the “By playing you learn.” (April 20 and in case of bad weather on April 27) in the don leone grossi park Petrarch Street. The usual day of games and activities related to traffic education and Eco-Schools will engage elementary school classes in games with the theme of traffic laws.

Older children, again with the help of volunteers, will be offered the May 18 the “Crash-test simulation”. The courtyard of the Falcone Institute will feature a TIR set up for a show lesson with the Crasch-test, a rollover simulator in a road accident, and other equipment for prevention activities. The show lesson will be attended by young people from the second and third classes of the Falcone Institute, first and second graders from the Mazzini-Ramella Secondary School, and children from the fifth grades of the elementary school.{:}
