“MEMORIAL CENCIN DE FRANCESCO” 2017:
Loano prepares to welcome OVER 800 ATHLETES.
Specialists from Italy and abroad, including several top international runners, will compete on the three courses of 63 km, 46 km and 20 km. Open until one hour before the start, registration is open for the 14-kilometer non-competitive walk.

Anticipation is growing for the eighth edition of the Vibram® Maremontana “Memorial Cencin De Francesco”, which will run Sunday, April 2.
They are over 800 athletes expected at Loano as early as Saturday, coming from all over Italy and abroad. They will in fact be 15 nations represented e numerous samples in the race, who starting from the beach of the well-known western Ligurian seaside resort will do battle on the paths of the immediate hinterland.
Three trail races: one on short distance from 20 Km and two more ambitious ones from 46 Km e 63 Km, both of which are valid as qualifiers for the Ultra Trail du Mont-Blanc (UTMB) and the Cro-Trail.
Registration for the 14 km non-competitive walk, dedicated to fit and Nordic walking enthusiasts, to be walked at a leisurely pace on hilly and scenic roads and trails that are almost entirely unpaved.
Many side initiatives in program that will kick off Saturday, April 1 with the guided tour discovering the city of Loano (departure 4 p.m., reservations required at info@maremontana.it). Also on Saturday afternoon, on the waterfront in the bib pickup area at the Maccagli Garden Space, will be set up the Sports Village with exhibition booths and musical entertainment by SelfPollutionRadio. From 3 p.m. at 7 p.m., there will also be a Vibram booth in the exhibition village, where it will be possible to test soles with Vibram Arctic Grip and Vibram Megagrip technologies and talk with Marco Zanchi and Vibram Trailrunning Team athletes for the latest pre-race advice. At the Soul Running stand Mirko Mottin will present the project “The Running Clinic” and it will be possible to test technical materials and take advantage of a trail running consulting service. 5:45 p.m. will kick off the’meeting “The relationship between stress level and athletic performance.”, A time for discussion and debate among athletes elite on the topic of crisis and its management during a competition, moderated by psychologist and psychotherapist Cesare Picco, to be followed by 6:45 p.m. the presentation of competitions and the technical briefing. Sunday, April 2 we will get into the heart of the sporting event with the holding of races that will all start and finish at the Sports Village on the waterfront in Orto Maccagli. Athletes engaged in the 46 km and 63 km trail will start at 6 a.m. and are expected to finish between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. Those competing in the 20 km trail will leave at 9 a.m. to touch down between 10:45 a.m. and 2 p.m.
At 10 a.m., the departure is scheduled for participants in the 14 km non-competitive walk.
Opening of exhibition booths and musical entertainment at the Sports Village from 11 a.m. 7 p.m.
Also from 11 a.m., in the Sports Hall in Matteotti Street - Fei Location, athletes who have returned from competitions will be able to use the massage service offered in collaboration with students of the Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy at the University of Genoa - Pietra Ligure Training Pole.
Le awards will take place, also in Orto Maccagli, on the waterfront. At 12 noon, prizes will be awarded to the winners of the 20-kilometer race, and at 3 p.m. to the first finishers of the 46-kilometer and 63-kilometer races.
For parents participating in the Vibram® Maremontana, both mountain runs and walks, childcare services run by qualified staff are available (reservation required at info@maremontana.it).
Vibram Maremontana is again this year joining the Short Circuit Solidarity organized by I Run for Find The Cure, pledging to support with part of the revenue from enrollment the construction of the Nafadji Coura Maternity in Mali.
The event, which for the fourth year has as its title sponsor Vibram, the world's leading manufacturer and marketer of high-performance rubber soles is organized by the’A.S.D. Maremontana under the auspices of the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano, the collaboration of partners Dances With Boars, CAI Loano, Friends of Carmo, Nonprofit Committee Find The Cure and the valuable support of numerous volunteers and associations in the area.
