Everything is ready to Loano, for the first of two float releases of the 26th edition of CarnevaLöa, organized by the’Old Loano Association with contributions from the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano.
Warming up the atmosphere the day before the parade (Saturday, February 25) will be the second event of the Children's Carnival, which will take place in the square Massena.
The fun afternoon in the square amidst a thousand confetti will kick off at 15.00 with a parade of children in masks, who will then be involved in games and dances.
They will be present at the party “U Beciancìn.”, King of Carnival and the official mask of Carnevalöa, and “U Puè Peppin” the traditional carnival mask at Loano.
The afternoon will close with the traditional piñata and with a sweet snack for all participants.
Sunday, February 26 i 13 carts made by carnival artisans will parade in the beautiful setting of the Loano waterfront. They will start at 15.00 from Cadorna Square and will reach Piazzale Mazzini where they will turn around to return to the starting point. During the course of the parade, the Village Palio, a carnival competition involving floats representing the villages of Loano. The parade can be followed in facebook live (@carnevaloa).
Opening the parade will be the two Lovato masks: the official mask of Carnevalöa “U’ Beciancin and the traditional one “U Puè Peppin” who will sit on the Loano Clock float. Along with them will be King Chinotto of Savona.
Immediately afterwards, the musical float “Everyone sings Sanremo” will enrich the parade with the sounds and voices of performers Ray, Sante and Tony and then the wagon Masha and the Bear will enliven the parade with the colorful masks of children from Loano's Istituto Rossello school.
Contending for the Village Palio Will be six Loogan floats: Finding Dory (The Priglians),
Tex Willer (Maina de Löa), Oceania (The Meceti), Avatar (Borgo di Dentro), The Burdelluzi Osteria (I mazzocchi - I matetti burdelluzi), The fire-eater (Rock Square).
The jury will be composed of experienced representatives of Ligurian carnivals. The winning float will represent the city of Loano in the Palio of the Commons scheduled on March 5.
The parade will also feature a preview of the floats that will compete for the Palio of the Commons: A Lanterna de Zena (Varazze G.A.V.), Tommy the Giants star (Finale Ligure), Dukes of Hazzard the Return (Borghetto S.S.), Snow White's witch (Old Bardino).
Finally, the procession of floats and masks will be accompanied by the Band “Cau de Noi”, which will enliven the party to the rhythm of the most popular musical notes.
Official speaker will be Gianni Rossi (leading tourist) who will announce the passage of the floats from the stage in front of the Vittorino bar. On the same stage will be the awards ceremony at the end of the second round.
The March 5 the carnival festival will close with the Palio of the Commons, which will compare floats from the riparian and inland municipalities that have joined the event.
