It kicked off in Loano the project “Health in Motion. Adapted Physical Activity (APA).”, promoted by the Holy Family Foundation Onlus under the auspices of the’Department of Social Services of the City of Loano.

The initiative, which takes place in the Presidio Riabilitativo “Mons. Pogliani” (Via Carducci 14), aims to spread the culture of a correct lifestyle and wellness with the goal of combating chronic degenerative diseases. The project includes a training program aimed at adults and the elderly, during which endurance, muscle strengthening, balance and flexibility exercises will be carried out in order to keep the whole body trained and be able to face normal daily activities independently.

“Given the importance of this issue," explains Vice Mayor Luca Lettieri - we have granted sponsorship to the initiative of the Holy Family Foundation Onlus, which will provide a discount to residents of the Municipality of Loano who sign up for the quarterly module. In this way, we hope to facilitate participation in an activity that promotes people's general physical well-being by providing a time to get together.”

“Each participant," explain the structure experts - carries out a program designed by a multidisciplinary team of professionals, targeted to its actual movement needs. Movement reduces blood pressure, makes people lose weight, and reduces the risk of diabetes, heart attack, stroke, and osteoporosis. Movement is the main source of mental and physical well-being. Enrollment is subject to a free examination by the facility's physiatrist for the purpose of initial functional assessment and identification of the most appropriate course. Qualified staff, exercise science graduates and physical therapists are present during the activity. The first training session is free of charge.”

Registration is collected at the rehabilitation facility. Information and pre-registration is available at InFORMAfamily Desk (Loano Salute - Via Azzurri d'Italia, 9 tel. 019.671155) on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to noon, Wednesdays from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m.).

The rates are as follows:

35 euro for 8 sessions, 45 euro for 16 sessions, 60 euro for 24 sessions. All residents will receive the 5 euro discount on the 24-session package (3 months).
