PRESS RELEASE (08/16/2016)

It continues until the August 19 the 65^ edition of the St. Pius X Parish food festival which also this year next to good food offers, the August 17, the Run San Pio non-competitive running race.

The race will start at 7 p.m. on a track of 6 kilometers and aims to promote the activities of the Chaehom's Mission.Part of the race registration fee (€1) will be donated to the mission. Chaehom is a vast area (approximately 3,000 square kilometers) that spans three districts in the province of Lampang: Chaehom, Muangpan, and Wangnua in northern Thailand. The missionaries take care of 46 villages (out of a total of about 300) in an area covering more than 3,000 square kilometers and with a population of about 80,000. There are six different ethnic and cultural groups in the mission area, each with its own language and religious traditions. This pluralism of ethnicities and cultures is a great cultural and human treasure. The mission promotes a rehabilitation program for opium smokers, aid to schools in the most remote and abandoned villages (supporting the education of about 600 children from poor families), scholarships, and training for young people.

The food stands will open every evening at 19.00. You can choose between pasta with pesto or marinara sauce, ravioli, wild boar, mixed fried seafood, grilled meat, and apple fritters. Good wine and live music will accompany the dinner.
