Wednesday, July 20, a Loano, l’Carlo Felice Theater Orchestra will be a guest of the musical season of the’Prince's Garden Summer Arena, promoted by the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano and curated by the I.So THeatre with the artistic direction of Luca Malvicini.

The Genoese orchestra will perform l’Overture of the “Don Juan” by and the “Concerto No. 20 for Piano and Orchestra in D minor K466” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and the “Symphony No. 1 in C major, Op. 21” of Ludwig van Beethoven.

The Carlo Felice Theater Orchestra will be conducted by Anthony Arcaini, a very young American conductor born in 1995, who after studying piano, began studying conducting at the University of Miami Frost School of Music at the age of 12.

After his debut at the Basilica of San Domenico in Cortona (2007), he composed “Monaco Fantastique theme and seven variations” (2008) for Prince Albert II of Monaco, dedicated to his adopted country. In the summer of 2010, Anthony conducted two important music festivals in Italy: the Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago and the Tuscan Sun Festival in Cortona.

The concert will feature young Russian pianist Gulnara Fatykhova, who has performed in numerous concerts in Lithuania, France, Belgium and the United States.

L’orchestra of the Carlo Felice Theater began its activity in the early 1900s. In 1965, the Orchestra became a permanent ensemble, dedicated to both opera and symphonic music, and since then it has continued to evolve, enhancing the qualities of both the orchestra as a whole and the solo parts entrusted to individual instrumentalists.
Since the 1950s, a number of important conductors have taken to the podium, including Victor De Sabata, Tullio Serafin, Igor Stravinsky, Franco Capuana, Vittorio Gui Sergiu Celibidache, Hermann Scherchen, Sir John Barbirolli, Claudio Abbado, Francesco Molinari-Pradelli, Carlo Maria Giulini, Riccardo Muti, Georges Prêtre, Mstislav Rostropovich, Giuseppe Patanè, Vladimir Delman, Gianandrea Gavazzeni, Spiros Argiris, Peter Maag, Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos, Myung-Whun Chung, Yury Ahronovitc, etc. More recently, we remember Daniel Oren (Principal Conductor of the Orchestra in the second half of the 1980s and from 2007 to 2010), Antonio Pappano, Christian Thielemann, Daniele Gatti, Gary Bertini, Gennadij Rozdestvenskij, Gianluigi Gelmetti, Rudolf Barshai, Bruno Campanella, Lorin Maazel, Zubin Mehta, Nello Santi, Michel Plasson (Principal Guest Conductor of the Orchestra in the early 2000s), Bruno Bartoletti, Neville Marriner, Nicola Luisotti, Juanjo Mena (Principal Guest Conductor of the Orchestra from 2007 to 2010), Diego Fasolis, Dmitrij Kitajenko, Manfred Honeck, Donato Renzetti, Kyrill Petrenko, Carlo Rizzi, Stefan Soltestz, and Wayne Marshall.
