PRESS RELEASE (14/07/2016)
Friday, July 15, a Loano, the musical season in the’Prince's Garden Summer Arena, promoted by the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano and curated by the I.So THeatre with the artistic direction of Luca Malvicini will host “The singing family” with The Marinetti Sisters, Francesca Nerozzi, Jacopo Bruno and the jazz trio from’Maniscalchi Orchestra.
The theatrical-musical show will transport the audience to a vintage atmosphere – that of the late 1930s – peppered with sketches, choreography, and anecdotes about the customs and culture of the time, accompanied by the music of the light orchestras of E.I.A.R. (the predecessor of RAI, which was based in Via Arsenale in Turin).
Those were the years when Italy was experiencing a regime in its death throes, with the illusion of being self-sufficient and having achieved absolute goals of modernity, while clouds were gathering on the horizon.
It is the Italy of Camerini's “white telephones” (brilliant film comedies), elegant “dance halls” (one example above all being the Sala Gay in Via Pomba in Turin), radio, soccer commentary, the Fiat Topolino and Balilla cars, boxer Primo Carnera, and aviator Italo Balbo. The Italy of our grandparents—and in some cases our parents—which found a reason to smile and be carefree in the “songs on the radio” at a time that was anything but easy.
Entertaining the audience on stage is the Sorelle Marinetti vocal trio, The three singing actors who have made syncopated songs their life's mission and entertainment, and who, alongside extensive theatrical activities, also boast prestigious collaborations, such as with Arisa in Sanremo (2010), with Simone Cristicchi in a highly successful summer tour (2011), and with Vinicio Capossela for the album “Marinai profeti e balene” (Sailors, Prophets, and Whales).
The splendid Sorelle Marinetti will also be joined by two of their colleagues from the musical comedy “Risate sotto le bombe” (Laughter under the bombs): the beautiful and talented Francesca Nerozzi (Hairspray, Il Vizietto, Full Monty, Laughter Under the Bombs) and the talented Jacopo Bruno (America, Laughter Under the Bombs).
Joining them on stage will be the jazz trio from the Maniscalchi Orchestra: Christian Schmitz on the piano, Adalberto Ferrari on the clarinet and C-melody and Francesco Giorgi on the violin.
