PRESS RELEASE (8/07/2016)
Saturday, July 9, kicks off in Loano the musical season at Prince's Garden promoted by the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano and curated by the I.So THeatre with the artistic direction of Luca Malvicini.
At 9:30 pm, The exhibition will be inaugurated by the show “The painful notes” of the Osiris Band.
After irreverently delving into the intricacies of the complex universe of the seven notes, breaking down rigid academisms and barriers of musical genres, interweaving, cutting and stitching classical and light music, jazz and rock, the desecrating fury of the Osiris Band focuses, in this new show, on the very craft of musicianship.
Inspired by the book of the same name, the Osiris Band transforms the written pages into a musical-theatrical journey to the edge of reality. With their distinctive mimicry, instrumental and singing skills, the four protagonists have fun ironically dispensing provocative advice: from why it is better to avoid becoming a musician to how to dissuade children from approaching music, from which musical instruments not to play to how to eliminate the most unbearable musicians.
Through composed and decomposed music, chamber and balcony music, Beatles and Vasco Rossi, the Osiris Band sketches an unapologetic portrait of the figure of the musician: cocky, touchy, hapless, hated, and, rarely, loved.
The Osiris Band is composed of Sandro Berti (mandolin, guitar, violin, trombone), Gianluigi Carlone (voice, sax, flute), Roberto Carlone (trombone, bass, keyboards), Giancarlo Macrì (percussion, drums, bassotuba).
