Sunday, June 19, a Loano, the 2016 edition of the exhibition will kick off “The Turchini Concerts, organized by the Brotherhood of the Turks' Chapels under the auspices of the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano.
The concerts will be framed by the’Oratory N.S. of the Most Holy Rosary, with its gallery of works by great artists from centuries past. This magnificent space will once again resound with refined repertoires of sacred music this year.
Host of the first round of the “The Musics of the Soul.”, scheduled at 9 p.m., will be the pianist Danilo Mascetti.
The musical evening will open with three Lieder by F.Schubert and F.Liszt and will continue with the performance of the legends “St. François d'Assise: La prédication aux oiseaux” and “St. François de Paule marchant sur les flots” by F.Liszt.
The second part of the concert will be dedicated to “Images” (First and Second Series) by C.Debussy.
Danilo Mascetti He trained at the Como Conservatory with Maestro Roberto Stefanoni and is currently studying at the G. Verdi Conservatory in Milan with Maestro Vincenzo Balzani. He has had the opportunity to participate in master classes with Dominique Merlet, Leonid Margarius, Sergio Perticaroli, Ian Hobson, Marcella Crudeli, and Benedetto Lupo. He has attended regular lessons with Vsevolod Dvorkin at the Accademia del Talento in Desio and with Natalia Trull at the Summer School of the Moscow Conservatory and the European Academy in Erba.
He has won numerous national and international competitions and has performed in France, England, Germany, Romania, the Czech Republic, Wales, Latvia, Lithuania, and various cities in Italy.
He has collaborated with prestigious orchestras such as Pomeriggi Musicali, the Miahil Jora Philharmonic Orchestra of Bacau, and the Craiova State Symphony Orchestra. He has taken part in numerous music festivals, such as the Prague Summer Festival, Piano Festival – Galeri Caernarfon, and Salacgriva Classic Music Festival, performing in China in 2014 and representing Italy at the Kyoto International Music Students Festival in Japan.
In 2015, he made his debut in London for the Aspect Foundation for Music and Arts, opened the concert season at Palazzo Italia at EXPO, performing the recital “Liszt and the Italians” broadcast by RAI, and made his debut with the West Bohemian Symphony Orchestra in the Czech Republic. In the fall, he will make his debut in Rome at the Auditorium della Conciliazione with the Nova Amadeus Orchestra and perform at the Opéra Bastille in Paris.
Finally, in March 2016, he made his New York debut for New York Concert Artists and Associates with the NYCA Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Eduard Zilberkant.
Despite his extensive repertoire on the modern piano, Danilo Mascetti's interests also extend to early music: he studies harpsichord and early keyboards with Ruggero Laganà and performs regularly on both modern and early instruments with cellist Bartolomeo Dandolo Marchesi, with whom he has recorded variations by Hummel, Beethoven, and Mendelssohn on an 1824 fortepiano.
