They continue to Loano initiatives, promoted by the’ANPI Section “R. Boragine” of Loano under the auspices of the Municipality of Loano, for the 120th anniversary of the birth of Sandro Pertini.

Saturday, June 11, in the Civic Library in Kursaal Palace, starting at 4 p.m. the conference dedicated to political training of the young Pertini.

Prof. Joseph Milazzo, author of a very recent book dedicated to the lawyer. Christopher Astengo, martyr of the Resistance and central figure in the political growth of the young Pertini, and lawyer. Stephen Carrara Sutour deputy during Pertini's presidency of the House.

Sandro Pertini lived in the Astengo family home from the age of sixteen and was strongly influenced by Cristoforo Astengo, who introduced him to socialist ideas and introduced him to some of his friends, such as Ferruccio Parri, Carlo Rosselli, and Ernesto Rossi, who had a profound impact on his life.

Pertini Sandro (propr. Alexander). – Italian politician (Stella, Savona, 1896 – Rome 1990). A member of the Italian Socialist Party (PSI) since 1920, he was imprisoned and confined during the Fascist period. He participated in the Resistance as one of the top leaders of the National Liberation Committee of Northern Italy (CLNAI). He promoted the reconstruction of the Socialist Party and, as a supporter of left-wing unity, was director of the’Forward! (1946-47, 1949-51). Member of the Constituent Assembly, senator (1948-53), member of parliament from 1953, he was president of the Chamber of Deputies (1968-76) and, after the resignation of Giovanni Leone, was elected president of the Republic (1978-85).
