Continued at Loano the music review Young Concert Artists, organized by the’St. Mary Immaculate Music Association under the auspices of the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano.
The festival dedicated to young musicians showcases some of the best talents in Italian music, artists who already enjoy national and international fame, alongside promising young talents.
Saturday, June 4, at 9 p.m., in the Council Chamber at Doria Palace, the wind quintet concert will take place Anemos, formed by Charles Pinardi (Clarinet), Andrea Martinella (Oboe), Anna Govetto (Flute), Paolo Armato (Horn) and Paul Dreosto (Bassoon).
The Anemos quintet was formed in 2008 by five young musicians from Friuli, eager to try their hand at the vast floral wind repertoire spanning from the 18th century to the present day.
He specialized in Ljubljana with Maestro Paolo Calligaris, bassoonist of the Slowind quintet, one of the most important ensembles on the European scene.
The concert at Loanosi will open with a performance of “Small musical offering” for wind quintet (1943) by Nino Rota. The evening will continue with the pieces “Trois pièces brèves” by Jacques Ibert, “La cheminée du Roi René” by Darius Milhaud, “Suite No. 1” by Claude Debussy and will close with “Three Shanties op. 4” by Malcolm Arnold.
The quintet has performed numerous concerts in Italy (the Guido Cantelli Wind Instrument Festival in Novara, the Nei suoni dei luoghi International Festival, the Vatican Museums in Rome, etc.) and abroad (the Ljubljana Philharmonic and Young Virtuosi Festival in Ljubljana, the Theater of Vlora and the Theater of Shkodër in Albania).
Worthy of note is the performance of P. J. von Lindpaintner's Sinfonia Concertante with the Orchestra Academia Symphonica of Udine, a piece of rare beauty and rarely performed.
